St Peter's Church, Raunds, Northamptonshire

stone carving

Built largely of local limestone in the Early English style, the rebuilding of the Norman Church was started about 1220. Around 1300 the south arcade was begun and more building took place until about 1450. This pipe and tabor player is balanced architecturally with a viol player at the other end of the arcade.
